Internships

We believe that internships are beneficial to both students and to GH&G. Interns gain practical experience in a progressive, growing firm. And we gain the enthusiasm and energy of hard-working individuals during our busiest times.

In addition to experience, having Galusha, Higgins & Galusha on your resume can be a springboard for a job in accounting. Not only with our firm, but with others across the state and region.

GH&G has created a variety of opportunities designed to expose individuals to various aspects of the accounting field. One is sure to fit you. For more information, call the GH&G office in the town you wish to work.

As a GH&G intern you'll be involved in the following areas:
  • Tax return preparation - Individual and Corporate
  • Audit/Client accounting - Prepare financial statements, various bookkeeping

Duration of internships

  • The tax internship is from mid-January through April 15
  • Other internships are available as needed by the firm, usually in 3-4 month increments
Hours per week
  • For the tax internship, the intern would be expected to work a minimum of 40 hours/week
  • Other internships would be worked out around the student's class schedule
Type of work
  • The work performed by the intern will start out basic and become more complex as experience and knowledge is gained
  • The tax internship will consist mainly of tax returns for individuals and corporations
  • Other internships will offer a little bit of everything. The intern will be exposed to going out on audits, preparing financial statements, and completing tax returns
